The Trophee Bailli de Suffren is considered by many to be the Mediterranean’s most beautiful yacht race, featuring an extraordinary collection of classic yachts.
As the 11th edition of the race came to an end and celebration began, Camper & Nicholsons Marinas took this opportunity to announce its continued sponsorship for the next four races.
With 170 skippers, crew and guests gathered beneath the historic Fort Saint Angelo in Malta, Grand Harbour Marina’s General Manager welcomed them saying, “We have been proud to be associated with the Trophee Balli de Suffren for the past 7 years but it brings me even greater pleasure to be able to announce that we, Camper & Nicholsons Marinas, have just signed a contract with the organisers of this most special race to be headline sponsor of the race for the next four years.”
This annual 600 mile, first and only offshore long distance classic yacht race was the brainchild of three friends Henri- Christian Schroder, Christian Benoit and Pierre Hugo. The Trophee Bailli de Suffren commemorates Saint-Tropez’s sailor and warrior, Admiral Pierre André de Suffren de Saint Tropez.
Camper & Nicholsons Marinas has always had a strong interest in this stunning race as Christian Benoit, President of Marenostrum Racing Club explains, “We have appreciated Camper & Nicholsons Marinas’ interest in the past. Now, with their headline sponsorship, we have no doubt that they will help develop the legacy event and we’re sure that not only will the very special character of the race be preserved but it will now move up to the next level.”
Details of the results can be found on the Bailli de Suffren website.
