Beautiful anchorages and sailing destinations on The Maltese Archipelago – comprising Malta, Gozo and Comino.
Perfect sandy beaches can be found in the appropriately named Golden Bay, as well as at Mellieha and Gneja. St Paul's Bay offers views of the island on which the Apostle is reputed to have been shipwrecked, while Anchor Bay was the setting for Robert Altman’s 1979 Popeye The Movie.
Marsaxlokk is a traditional fishing village and one of Malta’s most picturesque seaside locations, with its coloured boats and fishing nets spread on the quay to dry.
Between Gozo and Malta, Comino’s Blue Lagoon is a popular destination for visitors and makes a beautiful and tranquil spot for an overnight stay. Other highlights include Gozo’s Xlendi, Dwejra and Marsalforn.
Further afield but still within easy reach are Sicily, southern Italy, Sardinia and Corsica. While Greece’s Ionian islands and the ragged, mountainous coastline of the Pelopponese are only a few days’ passage away for most boats.
All perfect for boats sailing in and around the coast of Malta with its balmy year round climate. Mediterranean cruising at its best.
