There's a simple forecast on the left. For those looking for more detailed forecasts, a wind forecast for the seas around the island is one of many detailed yachting forecasts available from Weather Online.

Climate in Cyprus

Cyprus has a typical Mediterranean climate. It is characterized by long dry summers from May to November and mild short winters from December to February. The autumn and spring seasons are short. With around 340 days of clear blue skies a year, sunshine in Cyprus is guaranteed.

Temperature

Over the course of a year, the temperature typically varies from 8°C to 31°C and is rarely below 5°C or above 33°C.

The warm season lasts from June to October with an average daily high temperature above 28°C. Sometimes during heat-waves the temperatures can rise to 36°C (97°F) in the day and might not fall below 26°C (79°F) in the night. The cold season lasts from December to March with an average daily high temperature below 19°C.

Rainfall

In general, the island experiences mild wet winters and dry hot summers. Variations in temperature and rainfall are governed by altitude and, to a lesser extent, distance from the coast. Expect a few rain showers and thunderstorms especially in late March and April. Limassol receives around 410 mm (16.1 in) of rain each year but this can vary significantly from year to year and some years bring droughts.

The prevailing wind is westerly, with occasional north-westerlies.
