Malta has suppliers and agents for most marine manufacturers, and our team can provide details and contacts.
Malta has its own shipyard and a full range of facilities for all yacht repair and maintenance work can be found locally to Grand Harbour Marina:
The nearby Palumbo superyacht shipyard has the capacity to service, maintain, refit and repair some of the largest ships afloat. It covers an area of more than 45,000 square metres and includes a 160m long graving dock, and a 140m covered dock, all provided with shore services, workshops, storage facilities and offices for the administration and crew.
The shipyard enjoys strong relationships with leading European and US superyacht builders, enabling them to carry out their extended commitments, warranty works and servicing requirements at the yard.
Our knowledgeable and experienced marina staff will help with any owner or skipper’s specialist requirements.
To comply with local regulations in Malta, visitors on yachts
arriving from other countries in the European Union need to complete the
form supplied by the Capitainerie with vessel registration details and a
crew list.
Yachts arriving from outside the EU will need to
clear through Malta’s Customs and Immigration - officials will usually
visit the yacht at Grand Harbour Marina to complete this.
If any
passengers or crew will be leaving the yacht in Malta and departing the
island by another means, they should have their passport stamped by
Immigration on arrival.
The regulations state that all visitors
to Grand Harbour Marina will need to fill in a Berthing Licence at the
Capitainerie, and yachts must be covered by third party insurance.
Customs
and Immigration formalities are administered at the nearby
Capitainerie, and our marina staff enjoy close liaison with the Malta
Maritime Authority.

On approaching Grand Harbour, the breakwater - with St Elmo lighthouse on its eastern end - is easy to identify. Leaving this to starboard, and the short breakwater off Fort Ricasoli to port, the impressive Fort St Angelo is then rounded to port to enter the final approach channel, marked with small red and green buoys.
Due to the volume of commercial traffic in certain areas of Grand Harbour, yachts should contact Valletta Port Control on channel 12 when twelve miles out. It is likely yachts will be asked to call again 1 mile from the entrance, to request permission to enter.
Contact Grand Harbour Marina on channel 13 for berthing instructions or to book your berth.
