Malta has long been an important yachting destination, in part due to its location at the crossroads of Europe at the centre of the Mediterranean, and as the last port of call before the Suez Canal and Indian Ocean transits.

Malta’s position at the centre of the Mediterranean makes it a very practical launch pad for itineraries throughout Europe. With Italy, Sardinia, Croatia, Greece and the South of France, the main ports of call of the Mediterranean are all within two days’ cruising.
During the summer, the Maltese climate is sunny and hot but with cooling sea breezes making it an ideal time to visit.
This weekend will see the launch of the Malta Sail Training Association (MSTA). The brainchild of Grand Harbour Marina’s General Manager, Ben Stuart, the MSTA aims to provide less privileged children with life skills and increased confidence as well as much more.
